How I Failed Shooting Provia 100f | Canon A1
On this episode of Focal Collective we FAILED and over-exposed a roll of Provia 100f on the Canon A1 while backpacking around Banff, Alberta.
This video gives a behind the scenes look at the photos taken with this camera and what the overexposed shots look like. The Canon A1 is a great 35mm film camera for beginners, though slide film still proves challenging to properly expose the highlights utilizing the camera's built-in light meter.

Chris Wray, The Fine Print : Those images are so different from what I would think even over exposed slide film would do, it makes me wonder if they were cross processed or something? I have done huge numbers of under and over exposed slide film over the years, but have never seen this kind of color shift. Or, perhaps the chemicals were exhausted.
Joshua Nuvole : With in camera meters I use to shoot slide film setting my exposure compensator at - 1/3 and I always had correctly exposed slides. This was in the days of shooting Kodachrome though
Sodapop : Hey I'd love to see more on the a1. I dig your channel btw, it recommends it to me whenever I watch the big film channels.
tallaganda83 : Provia is probably one of the most forgiving slide films too, you should try Velvia 50, but when you nail it oh man. Provia is great for long exposures at night, especially star trail photography.
Andy Magee : It's a shame the images didn't turn out right, Banff is such a stunning place.
I've used Velvia in the past, never again. It has incredible sharpness but in the wrong conditions, the colours look awful.

BLACKTHORNE SOUND DESIGN : I love this series. I found this channel when I was looking for my first film camera and was looking at the EOS 650/620. I now have both and use them a lot. I actually have a request. I know they're expensive, but if you happen to have some affordable medium format cameras laying around like zenza bronica and mamiya I would love to see such a detailed explanation of them by you.
marcelo campoamor : Thank you very much for this video and all the others, I love them. Perhaps (apart from ergonomics for certain functions) it has a small disadvantage compared to for example the Nikon FA or the Minolta XD (7,11) and that is that in manual mode it does not show the chosen shutter speed only the recommended one.
Tinkerbell : Hi Azriel, it's good to see you back again. Thank you for another excellent video. It's interesting how cameras which were produced 30-40 years ago and were relatively high tech at the time seem so low tech today yet are still functional, whereas smartphones which were produced 3-4 years ago are almost obsolete today..

문현성 : 그냥 내 소신으로 말하자면, 전기차는 테슬라 미만은 흉기가 제일 나은거 같음. 반자율은 테슬라 미만은 다 똑같고, 흉기를 선택한건
가격대비 실내공안 잘 뽑아내고, 한국에 잘맞은 옵션들 그리고 특히 외부에서 전기 뽑아서 쓸 수 있는 장점.
