Replace a Printer Pickup Roller (Samsung ML2010, SCX4521, SFX4725 and others)
Misfeeds? Paper jams? Change the rubber pickup roller and your Samsung printer will feed paper like it was new! Same procedure on the ML2010, ML2570, ML2571, SCX4521, SCX4725, CLP350 and many others (see long list of models below).
TO BUY a pickup roller, go to eBay and search on "Pickup Roller For Use In Samsung ML1610 ML 1610 2010 2240". That's where I bought my pickup rollers. They are $6.60 for 1 complete belt and the core ($3.60 + $3 shipping). I actually bought 3, because each extra one only adds $1 in shipping to the bill (that made them $5.26 each, including shipping).
It ships from Florida (NOT China!), so it only takes a few days to arrive.

The part number is JC73-00302A (for just the belt, which Samsung charges $8.95 for! And then Samsung adds on for shipping!!! eBay is a much better deal.

Jamey Carter : THANK YOU!!! I suffered through near-constant paper jams for years from this printer, and I can't believe it only took an $8 part and your 6 minute video to fix the problem.
userburt : Thanks for sharing this! I had am ML 2010 in storage forever and just reversed the roller (with your help) to get it working. Very fiddly to get the roller out -- finally just used pliers to grip and pull the tabs away. Did something similar on an ML 1210 years ago.
Michelle Lee : Thank you so much for this!! I thought my printer was dead for sure and didn't know you could do this at all, but your video saved me the cost of an entire new printer! Also, I looked online and people recommended turning the old rubber inside out (if it isn't completely worn like the one in your video) and it worked for me.
cyberdyne981 : In 2021 this video is still relevant! THANKS so much for making and posting your video. Getting those two tabs pulled out was definitely "challenging", but I would not have figured it out without seeing you do it!
I ended up using a small blade screwdriver on both sides simultaneously to pry them OUT (horizontally). I could not seem to do it one side at a time. When I found the sweet spot, the roller came loose easily. Turning the tire inside-out revealed the inside surface was very smooth, so I didn't opt for that. I just stayed with the original exterior side and rotated it to orient the best surface at the pickup point. I used silicone waterproofing liquid to clean the tire (the rubber), which only had some minor cracks.
It went back in quite easily. Worked great on first try and on all pages since. I may buy a spare tire on eBay for next time. This has been a remarkably reliable and economical printer until the feed jams started a year or two ago.
Paul Miller : Thanks for the video, it worked really well! I found taking the assembly out even easier than dealing with a coat hanger/ tool to get the tabs to move. I simply reach in with both hands, moved the tabs slightly and pulled the entire assembly out all at the same time. Hope that helps! Thanks again!
