Let's Talk Steam Traps
Let's Talk Steam Traps.
Since the Armstrong Inverted Bucket Steam Trap was brought to market in 1911, the energy-saving performance of steam traps applying the inverted bucket engineering principle is legendary.
Armstrong offers a full range of steam traps as well as the remarkable trap valve station (TVS) to integrate valves and traps into one versatile package for quicker installation, simplified testing and faster maintenance.
Armstrong International has released an FREE updated interactive 40 minutes course on Steam Traps. The course objectives are: Learn the purpose of steam traps -- Explore steam trap types -- Learn how to size and select steam traps -- Identify typical maintenance and preventive measures Check it out here: http://store.armstronginternational.com/product?catalog=steam-traps-M2133

Dale Mahalko : This just goes to show that you don't need fancy 3D computer graphics to clearly explain and demonstrate technical concepts.
Seamus Meyer : This explanation and demonstration of the steam trap in different instances is perfect. Well put together. Thank you.
Ed Reynolds : I hope this guy is recording videos still, finally someone who speaks clearly and makes sense! Good intro for me to the subject. Thanks!
Jared S : 3:30 inverted bucket
6:15 automatic differential
8:40 float and thermostatic
socertiesDB9 : This is by far the best lesson in steam systems i have ever watched!

Steven Tasker : I used to work in a hospital. All along the main steam line there would be a chitter chatter tapping noise, it sounded like morse code but not beeps. A guy I worked with said it was the traps on the drip legs. It seems like the only plausible explanation, the valve opening and shutting. However, if there are hundreds of taps/chatters a minute, the valve flickering open and shut like that, does that not suggest something’s wrong with the valve? Or is it normal for a trap to chatter like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I tried google but can only find pages discussing using electronic listening devices to hear through the static whether or not a traps functioning correctly
william server : The guy knows so much about AC that he let his condenser coil get plugged with dirt and buried the unit in mulch. Haha. I hope he does the install himself . it will just cost him more money. Great video.
Dave Hall : Amazing video. Explained all pros and cons neatly.
tribulation138 : I work on big laundry steam irons at my work. and I can tell tell you those thermodynamic steam traps aren't cheap even though your video says they are. We have 16 of them with everyone having a different size orifice. They run over 200$ brand new each.
Carlos Marin : ACTUALLY, THERE ARE ONLY THREE TYPES OF TRAPS, THERMODYNAMICS, THERMOSTATICS AND MECHANICAL. THE BUCKET TRAPS FALLS INTO THE MECHANICAL TRAPS SAME AS FLOATS TRAPS.

gprimeofx : Yes, finally! I've been looking forward to this topic for a while now, and as always, you guys did not disappoint! The F & T trap is my favorite kind of steam trap, can't wait to see the rest of this series!
Fanny Andersson : Very informative and well explained!
Mark Johnson : Ah, the mystery of the steam trap to be explained. I'm eagerly anticipating the next lessons. Thanks!
Nemo The Glover : Hey lads got an idea for you not sure if you guys have done a video about it yet! I noticed you have a pdf about it. I'm talking about "In line valve testing" "Lift assist testing device"
Electronic valve testing for PRV!
cant find solid information about how these work
so maybe a quick video covering the fundementals of it would be great !
optimusprime699 : I am guessing this could not be used in a high pressure steam system. For example the boiler and steam system in a power plant for remove damaging condensate from the steam before it enters the steam turbine?
