Hummer Is Back (H3T Upgrades & Review) | Inside Line
It’s the shortest-lived midsized truck in modern history and one of the coolest. It’s the Hummer H3T. With the Hummer brand being reimagined with the Hummer EV, we decided to take a look back at the last truck offering ever to come out of the GM camp. For this Inside Line, we are going to not only give you an overview a 2009 H3T, but show you how it was modified on the cheap.
This includes upgrading it with a new set of 17x9 Centerline 850 Atlas wheels and 35x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers that were initially fit on with no lift (take that Jeep Gladiator!). While the total production of these body-on-frame trucks make them unicorns in the midsize pickup world, the fact is, it remains a sought-after vehicle.

VETrain : I own a h3t alpha. Bought it as I was tired of waiting for the gladiator at the time. I will never ever sell mine. Love everything about it. My favorite mods- superchip, adjustable ranch 9000xl shocks
Nico T : I wouldn’t compare the H3T to a Gladiator. I own the H2 and a Hmmwv, both are modified with a stand alone off road look but the H3T is a Badass Hummer as well and I have seen them in action along side of H1s & H2. I wouldn’t take anything from them in performance. As far as the dated look. I feel it gives it character and makes them unique.

Tom Cruz : I love my H3! Not the T, but it gets the job done! Actually in the process of doing a straight axle swap on it. Parts are hard to come by right now.
VENOMVETTE : I always loved how these looked but that i5 was a dealbreaker for me ended up getting a 05 H2 sut instead. Looks killer though h3t will still keep a eye on

HoldMyBeer76 : I’m mainly a Ford fan but liked the Hummers. General Motors really screwed up killing of Hummer and Pontiac if you ask me. Hummer was the only thing they had to take on Jeep and Pontiac was their sports division that made the more sportier designs of GM cars. If they would have kept those two brands around a few years longer then they would be doing great right now.
Zero2Nifty : Bring back the Hummer line, GM! I miss my H3; even though it was only the I5; plenty sufficient for non rock crawling use I put it through.
Abel flores : Absolutely digging this awesome right. Huge props to the proud owner for this amazing build.
Tom Cruz : I love my 06 H3. I put a lot of work in it front/rear lockers (stole front diff with lockers from an H3 T with the 3.7), beefier IFS hardware, diff drop, adjustable upper control arms. But I wish I could find the Rancho lift for it. The lucky few have the best mod. I also would love to explore beefing up my IFS front setup and avoid straight axle all together. I would love to see how IFS moves forward in the future.

The Hummer H3T is a mid-size pickup truck that was available during the 2009[5] and 2010 model years.
The vehicle was originally developed as a regular cab (two-door) concept pickup truck in 2003, that was shown at the 2004 Los Angeles Auto Show.[6] The five-passenger four-door crew-cab production version appeared at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show.[7] The H3T featured a 5-foot bed with built-in storage boxes and came in standard H3T, H3T Adventure, H3T Luxury, and H3T Alpha (with cloth or leather trim) trim packages.
A road test by Motor Trend reported the 2009 truck "crawled up rock steps, ran through sand washes, and navigated steep ledges with confidence and capability to spare." They described its turning radius "uncomfortably wide" and said "at highway cruising it would've been nice to have a faster, firmer feel

Froztinc : Yeahh buddy! I love the H3T especially that it's a Alpha with the 5.3 V8 I would NOT buy a underpowered V6 H3.
Sadly I sold my H3 Alpha and moved to a H2 as it was just too small and I've been enjoying the hell out of it.

TBird100636 : 8:44 - Actually, this is the LH8 5.3L which was used in the H3 from 2008-09, with no Variable Valve Timing, no Displacement on Demand (AKA Active Fuel Management). or Flex Fuel capability. The Modern LS4 was a 5.3L Front Wheel Drive specific GM LS V8, with a different bell housing to accommodate the different bolt pattern of the FWD transmission, as well as a shortened crankshaft. It was used in the last of the GM W platform vehicles. 2010 Hummer H3s had the LH9 5.3L, which had Variable Valve Timing, and Flex Fuel capability.
