[설특집] 대나무 활

원래 각궁은 대나무 외에도 물소뿔을 붙이고 해궁을 하지만 그런 복잡한 과정없이 대나무 하나만 가지고 활을 만들어봤어요~!

역시 옛조상들의 지혜는 정말 대단한거 같습니다..
이런 나무로 옛날에는 무기로 사용되었으니 정말 후덜덜 합니다;;

◎ 세종특별자치시 무형문화재 제1호 ‘전의 궁인’ 주장응

우리나라 전통 활 ‘각궁’은
물소 뿔로 만들었다고 해서
그 이름이 붙혀졌다고 합니다

시위를 풀었을 때
활이 거꾸로 뒤집힐 정도로
강한 탄성과 복원력을 지니고 있으며,
길이가 짧은 것이 특징인데요

각궁은
대나무, 물소뿔, 쇠심, 뽕나무, 참나무, 화피 등
서로 성질이 다른 재료를 접착하여 만드는 만큼
가공 방법이 복잡하고
제작 기간도 1년여 정도로 긴데요

각궁 제작하기 위해서는
손 3700회 이상의 손질을 해야 한다는
기록이 있을 정도로,

수십 차례, 수백 차례를 반복해서
붙이고 다듬고 나면
비로소 한 장의 각궁이 탄생하게 됩니다
