How to mount the MINI Ski and Snowboard Carrier | MINI How To

Let’s take a mountain trip. With the MINI railing carrier or roof carrier bars, you can easily mount the MINI Ski and Snowboard Carriers. Here we go:

Unlock the ski and snowboard carrier, push the button and open it. Turn the catch to loosen the holder and slide it outwards on the carrier base up to the stop. Find the hexagonal side with the included special torque wrench. This side stays up when inserting in the sliding block!
Now attach one sliding block by putting it through the opening in the carrier base from below, before screwing it onto the block – basic stuff. Push the holder back on the carrier base up to the stop. Test the correct side of the nut again before inserting it. Take the grooved side of the rubber strip and pull it halfway up out of the holder – make sure the holes align. Attach the second sliding block just like the first one. Great. Now let’s mount the ski and snowboard carrier!
Unlock the railing carrier – if needed, remove the cover strip. Lift the carrier onto the roof by guiding the sliding blocks into the rail bar. Position the carrier, so that the cover flap can still be operated. Listen closely: Tighten the nut on the outer sliding block with the special wrench until it clicks. Slide the holder outwards to get to the other fixing point – and tighten the nut here as well. Push the rubber strip back into the holder and turn the hatch. Fixed!

Once again: Attach the other carrier in the same way. To load your skis or snowboard onto the carrier, slide both holders outwards, put in your device, slide the holders back in, lock both catches to fix the holders, and close the carriers firmly. Play it safe: you can lock the carrier with the key. With the MINI Ski and Snowboard Carrier you can transport up to 5 pairs of Skis or 4 Snowboards.

Swing Up Bike Holder

With roof racks or cross bars installed on the roof of your Toyota, you can benefit from a range of roof top attachments, including a ski \u0026 snowboard holder. Available from your Toyota retailer, it is simple to install yourself.

The ski \u0026 snowboard holder comes in two sizes. The largest holds up to 6 pairs of skis or 3 snowboards.

First, use the key supplied with the roof rack to unlock the clamp covers on the driver’s side of the car and remove them. Then, slide out the two rubber T-slot covers.

Next, insert the ski holders into the two T-slots and slide them to the desired location. Then, open them and use the supplied Allen key to tighten them on both sides. Store the Allen key in the glove compartment.

Place the skis and the snowboard in the holder. Close the ski holders and lock them with the supplied key, making sure to store it in the glove compartment.

Check the ski holders to ensure they are firmly fixed, then re-install the two clamp covers. Lock them and store the key in the glove compartment.

To reduce wind noise, it is recommended to use the rubber T-slot covers as much as possible. Therefore, cut the rubber to the appropriate length. If you decide not to cut the T-slot covers, you can store them in your car.

The ski \u0026 snowboard holder may change the behaviour of the vehicle on the road. For safety reasons, never drive faster than 75 miles per hour whilst installed. And make sure there is sufficient clearance when entering a parking garage.

Remove the ski \u0026 snowboard holder from the vehicle before entering a carwash, or when it is not in use to reduce fuel consumption and wind noise.
