Fujitsu Technology and Service Vision 2023
Short overview of Fujitsu Technology and Service Vision for 2023. Discover how sustainability can be integrated into business and drive value, different futures that the evolution of technologies will drive and how these can help you to transform your business towards a regenerative society.
@RossPeterson06 : I disagree with the premise: "We need to build a radically different society."
That's a huge claim with a high burden of proof that needs to be met (and hasn't in my mind).
What is being implied when they say that "we need to build a radically different society"?
Doesn't it imply, at the very least, reform of the existing society?
Shouldn't Fujitsu's vision be to serve the societies (governments, institutions, businesses) that exist and try to find solutions to their problems?
And which society is being referred to exactly?
Fujitsu is a global, transnational corporation, so is it some sort of global society we're referring to?
With this statement alone, it seems to me that Fujitsu is or is dangerously close to overstepping its bounds as a business / corporation
and is positioning itself as a political actor—possibly in violation of the sovereignty of nations and their peoples.
The use of the phrase "sustainability transformation" also suggests an intent to re/trans-form society.
But who has decided this and on what authority? Through elected representatives?
Why should sustainability be the goal of society?
Wouldn't growth be a better goal so that we expand our capacity to address large scale problems (such as environmental problems)?
I am profoundly concerned about the vision being advanced here. This vision, while being put forward with good intentions, appears to me to be naïve, ill-considered, and even dangerous for society.
I think the assumptions / presuppositions of this vision need to be examined and made explicit for transparency, discussion, and—I would hope—reconsideration.
