Chompon Boong Boonnak (MET'13) recounts his journey falling in love with cocktails, to bartending, to co-owning one of Boston's most celebrated restaurants, Mahaniyom in Brookline Village. At Mahaniyom, Boonnak and his team craft what he calls "cocktails with a Thai twist" to accompany the restaurant's diverse menu of shared plates with bold, authentic flavors.

Mahaniyom's Pure Sin Cocktail is a Smoky Take on the Rum Old Fashioned

Chompon "Boong" Boonnak (MET'13) of the Thai tapas bar Mahaniyom in Brookline Village prepares a Pure Sin, his smoky riff on a rum Old Fashioned, which features cachaca, a smoky rum from Mexico, pandan syrup, and jasmine bitters imported from Thailand. The stirred cocktail is smoked with apple wood chips and presented on clear ice.
