Today, I'm talking about the New Balance 890v7 after 100 miles. This shoe has Revlite Ground Contact foam, minimal rubber on the outsole, and a fantastic knit upper. Overall, I've really enjoyed running in this shoe, but this is primarly a fast day shoe. The stiffness of the outsole makes it fantastic for tempo runs and threshold runs, but it doesn't really lend itself for recovery runs or other relaxed paces.

The rubber did wear down a bit faster than I'd like at 100 miles, but I don't suspect it to be a huge issue for the lifespan of this shoe. For the most part, traction is taken care of with the shaping of the revlite ground contact foam, and I haven't experienced a single issue with grip.
