The Benchmark HPA4 is a high quality pre-amp and headphone amp that - although being digitally controlled - only does analog audio. But is does that extremely well. After producing the video I discovered there is the same pre-amp without headphone amp, the LA-4 offering the same performance at a lower price (https://benchmarkmedia.com/products/benchmark-la4-line-amplifier).
