Welcome to UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT
Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering. We’ve created this overview to give you an insight into our faculty. We hope it inspires you.
Welcome to the UTS campus in central Sydney
The UTS campus is in the heart of Sydney, within a growing tech, innovation and creative hub at the southern gateway to the city's Central Business District.
Close to Central Station and straddling Broadway, our vibrant and connected campus is part of a precinct that’s home to the ABC, the Powerhouse Museum, TAFE Ultimo, the International Convention Centre (ICC), Darling Harbour and Chinatown.
Over the past decade, our City Campus Master Plan has transformed our campus, delivering iconic new buildings – including the Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building and our newest addition, UTS Central – that support excellence in teaching and research. Our state-of-the-art facilities give UTS staff, students and partners access to cutting-edge technologies as they develop solutions to the challenges of tomorrow.
The campus is also a physical reflection of the university’s sustainability goals. Our newest buildings have all achieved five- or six-star Green Star Certified ratings, with sustainable design and engineering initiatives a prominent component of their design.

During a defining, transformative period for UTS, three distinctive new buildings have been delivered, along with a state-of-the-art Library Retrieval System and a network of revitalised learning and social spaces, including a new green heart for the campus, Alumni Green. These facilities support a new model of learning at UTS, strengthen the university’s capacity for cutting-edge research, and give our partners in industry, government and the community access to world-class resources within Sydney’s burgeoning education, digital and creative hub.
