3D in Photoshop CS6 - 01 - 3D Basics
Photoshop CS6 makes creating and using 3D objects easier than ever. In order to become proficient with 3D, you have to master the basics. In this first video of an ongoing series, we'll explore the fundamentals of 3D and the Photoshop 3D workspace.
Atom Force : Thanks for making this. I'm pretty comfortable with the PS interface in general, but when I first saw the 3D controls, I panicked! Thank you for taking the time to help others develop the skills to make their ideas come to life!
MrSetterfield : I have been using photoshop for almost 10 years and not once have I ever decided or tried diving into 3d. Your explanations and instruction make it very easy to understand. Thank you. I am looking forward to exploring more.
2728muzikmann : I really like your style of teaching. In this world of speed teaching and tutorials with no just music and no commentary, this is a real treat. Thank you!
LikCreativeTV : Hello sir, I'm glad for this series of tutorial, it's pretty helping us who are new to 3d in Photoshop. Keep up the good works! :)
Austin : Hi Mike,
Just a quick message to say, thank you so much for doing these series of tutorials. Very clear and precise, and please, please continue doing more. Thanks again.
Photoshop CC & CS6 3D - The Lathe
Photoshop CC \u0026 CS6 3D - Grab an image off the internet, in this case a bottle, and create a 3D object from it.
Cody Hopper : Wow this is incredible, having never seen the 3D-side of photoshop, this is a great introduction. Thanks for the help!
Ðaniel Presedo : You could create a second mesh and merge it into the wine glass. The trick would be to align it nicely. You could, for example use the top of the glass as the shape, lathe it > think of it as half a sphere shape. Then scale it to about ~98% to fit IN the glass. Probably would be easier for me to create a video one day...
Vernon Nash : Thanks Daniel. Would the lathe rotation work better if you changed the line of rotation to the left hand side using the 9 point grid tool?
Ðaniel Presedo : That might mean either:
1. the extrude should be more or maybe less
2. the original line/path for the lathe may not be straight
Just a guess without seeing it.
Winsnes : Quick and informative! Nice =)

tyren14 : It worked like a charm!
Essentially, ignore most of the instructions in this video. MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE PHOTOSHOP FIRST, then grab the dll file (it's not a virus ignore what people are saying) from the link in his description and copy this into:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6
(Make sure you replace the existing file, not just add a copy)
Then launch photoshop as you normally would and it will be there :)
Olumide Ogundairo : Thank you bro for this. It's so helpful. Sincerely, I'm so blown away at how this worked.
All I did was to follow the link.
Downloaded the file
Opened and copied the appropriate file for my system
Then Pasted and replaced the amtlib.dll file into my photoshop file location folder.
Reopened Photoshop and voila!!!! Photoshop got Extended and my 3D panel appeared.
Thank you Adnan
Keso Chakhesang : Downloaded the dll files and overwrote the existing files in their respective installation folders. WORKS LIKE A CHARM. Thanks!!
DaFez : Still works like a charm in july 2021 for me. Thanks a lot, man !
Best Drawing for Kids : nice
