In this project I will show you how to combine an ESP32-CAM with an ordinary security camera housing in order to create an online security camera. That means I will show you how to use the ESP32-CAM board in order to take pictures and then I will show you how to integrate it into home assistant. There we can then create an automation in order to take pictures when an intruder triggers an alarm. At the end I will then show you how to put all of the components inside a security camera housing. Let's get started!

Savu Savu : Hi Scott, the video is nice is informative. I like the idea of having a inflated camera but could be a loot more useful if it could also record. My main issue is that you plugged the camera in that exposed outlet. If someone comes into the house and sees the wire they could just unplug it.
Andreas Lamarca : For people having issue with the "brownout" error, make sure you have a good cable.
After three different cables, I finally managed to get my ESP32-CAM to work. Turns out that they are super sensitive to power fluctuations.
I accidentally nudged my cable connector to my PC once, and the brownout was triggered.
