Czech Town Built for the APOCALYPSE
Tabor (and no we don't mean Mount Tabor in Israel) is a small town located in the South Bohemian Region, which was actually named after Mount Tabor, nowadays in Israel. In the 15th century, the Hussites built this town as the center of their holy mission, to cleanse the world and help enact the Last Judgment. Today Tabor attracts visitors from all around the world with its beautiful historical city center where you can visit the Museum of Hussites, enter its unique underground passages and climb the tallest church tower in the Southern Bohemian Region. In this video, we'll guide you through this beautiful town, which is one of our most favorite towns in the Czech Republic and one of the best places for your 1 day trip from Prague. #czechrepublic #travel #realpragueguides

We traveled to Tabor by train. The train ride was about 1 hour and a half. You can book the train tickets here, we recommend making a seat reservation: https://www.cd.cz/en/default.htm
The hotel we stayed in was called Staromestsky pension (it's not a hotel really, it's pension, kind of like a smaller hotel, without reception):https://staromestsky-penzion.penzion.cz/
It was nice, only few minutes walk from the main square. The other hotels in Tabor looked nice too.
We recommend climbing the church tower for a beautiful view of Tabor. You pay for the the ticket at the top of the tower. You can only pay by cash and they do not split large bills up there! Come prepared!
There is also a nice monastery near Tabor: Klokoty monastery. We didn't manage to show in the video but if you have few hours extra and don't know what else to do in Tabor we recommend to visit it. It's only few minutes walk from Tabor.

Piotr Matuszewski : Combination of Czech and British humor is brilliant. Plus great history as always:)
Dmitry Rafaelyants : Another great video about another great czech city. Such a great country. Thank you , Valerie !
Sanford Felton : Very good video. I went there in 2011 and saw the tourist stuff, did the historical walk, went down to the small “river” (not the big one you show, another one off the residential street on the walking tour), etc. The people at the tourist center were very friendly and the building next to the center was interesting, incl. the underground tunnels. I thought the city was like a small version of Olomouc. I stayed in a small hotel just behind the tourist center and it was nice and inexpensive.
I had some extra time the next day, and the person at the tourist place recommended a city called Bechyně. It’s maybe 25 km away, very pretty, small city with a castle. There was a lady at the tourist place, I think Czech, and she either called her husband (American) or he just showed up. We had a very interesting conversation.
Alfredo Giachino : Great video. I need to add Tabor to my list, looks like a beautiful town.
Bad Fred : Very interesting Video! Nice to learn about smaller towns in CR. IT is worth to go!
