INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Buttercream Frosting: http://bit.ly/2L4D6GJ
1 box (about 18 ounces) Favorite cake mix
1 box (3.4 ounces) instant pudding and pie filling mix
4 eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 bag (14 ounces) Candy Melts® - http://bit.ly/2W4JAeI

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray one 13 x 9 x 2 in. sheet pan or two 8 in. or 9 in. round pans with vegetable pan spray.
Step 2
In large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and oil; beat at medium speed with electric mixer 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.
Step 3
Bake 30-35 minutes for round pans; 35-40 minutes for sheet pan, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan to cooling grid and cool completely. Divide cake in half; freeze one half for future use.
Step 4
In large bowl, use hands to crumble cake until no large chunks remain. Add icing; mix with fingers until well combined. Form mixture into cake balls. Chill in refrigerator at least 2 hours. Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Dip sticks into melted Candy Melts and insert into cake balls; let set. Wait until candy is completely firm before dipping the pops completely in melted Candy Melts.
Step 5
Makes 48 - 1 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/4 in. diameter)
Makes 24 - 2 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/2 in. diameter)
Makes 16 - 3 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-3/4 in. diameter)

Brandi Hakeem : I always trim around my cakes. I never use the outside portion of the cake as it becomes hard and doesn't give the cake pop a smooth consistency once you blend the icing. Also I never use the exact amount of oil required for baking my cakes. Through trial and error I found my cake pops would leak oil if there was any slight hole in the melting chocolates once it hardened up. Plus your sticks will absorb the oil making your white cake pop sticks look yellow. You are going to get more oil from the icing you use to bind your cake pop dough. Just food for thought and many mess ups
I use a 1oz scooper to insure a consistent cake pop and roll the balls until there is no cracks in the cake dough. Sometimes you might have to add a little bit more icing to get that consistency. Once I have rolled out my cake balls I put them on a cookie sheet on parchment paper and stick them in the fridge for about 10 minutes. While my cake balls are in the fridge I get my melting chocolates ready. Once my melting chocolates are ready I will dip my sticks into the chocolate and insert them into my cake balls and let them set outside of the fridge because your cake ball will still be a little cold causing the melting chocolate to set without putting it back into the fridge. Before dipping I will make sure my melting chocolate is at room temperature before I dip my cake pops and use toothpick to puncture any air bubbles my cake pop will have.
I use styrofoam because if you put your cake pops in at an angle, and you did not tap enough melting chocolate off then that chocolate will pull to the side and it will look messy. I hope this helps

Stephanie Beadle : Love Love this video and recipe. I found this video to be the most informative for cake pops. I made them for the first time after watching it and everyone loved them. A couple of them fell off the sticks so the next time I tried the frosting piped into the hole. FYI-this method works great as long as you pipe then stick the stick in before piping the next. I, without thinking, piped a few & the chocolate set before I could get the stick in. Fastest way would be to have someone else put the stick in as you pipe.
