Yaesu Update Dec 28th, 2022 - End of Production FTM-400 series and FT-818 series
ANNOUNCEMENT - Dec.28th, 2022
Please be informed that the production of the FT-818ND and FTM-400XDR will be discontinued. We are forced to make this unfortunate decision due to difficulty we are having with the availability of some components.
We appreciate your long-term patronage of the FT-818ND and FTM-400XDR.
Dec. 23rd, 2022 - Happy Holidays from Yaesu USA
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year form Yaesu USA. We wanted to take a moment to wish every one Happy Holidays and answer some questions.
The Yaesu FT-710 HF+6 meter radio
On the road...John Kruk, N9UPC, discusses the FT-710 as well as addresses some HUGE (and wrong) rumors about the radio.
@alanbiddle7698 : The sky is full of satellites, with many more on the way. Still waiting for a replacement of the FT-847 satellite rig. Not holding my breath, though. :)
@BreakingPintMedia : Thanks, John! I was a bit perplexed at who this was targeted towards and even a bit bummed we didn't get an "updated" 991a all-bander with upgraded SDR features from the FTdx10/101... But, I'm warming up to this model. If anything, it is REALLY good looking. That said, I'm crossing my fingers that this announcement is just the beginning of a wider variety of models... I realize you guys are probably tired of hearing the cries for a new full power, all-bander...but... Here's to hoping that is next! 73
@Marshall109 : Looking forward to hearing more, if this is priced right I think it could be a neat rig. The tuner, DVI, and USB connections are also very interesting. Could make a nice upgrade from my 891.
@yeater302 : Sounds like it will be a nice rig! I hope that Yaesu comes out with something to compete with the Icom 705 with VHF/UHF digital like the 705. I know you can't say if you know anything, so I will be waiting patiently . Thanks for clearing things up on this new radio!!
@walteredwards544 : This is an excellent start to the new HF radios. I'm still holding out hope for replacement for the 991a and 818 radios Iove the all band, all mode radios because I use mine for more than just transmitting. I like to travel and camp, especially by bicycle and car so when I'm in a remote area, keeping up with the news or just listening to entertainment on AM and WFM is most welcome. What would really be amazing is a 4 radio that has all these features but at 25 watts so I can plug it into a cigarette lighter and it has much less power draw than a 100 watt radio. Once again. I can't wait to see what you have coming out of the pipeline and thanks for listening to my .02 cents
