Hello : Actually, both Git AND Mercurial were started by kernel developers. On the very same day of the announcement that existing open source DVCSs weren't suitable. Both Torvalds and McCall have said that if either Git or Mercurial had a week's head start on each other, the other would not exist.
PS: definitely prefer Mercurial. I like learning this theory stuff, I always used Mercurial in the past anyway but didn't really understand the theory of a distributed system. Thank you for this video.
bloody_albatross : I like mercurial more for several reasons, but because github > bitbucket I end up using git more often anyway. :/

It all began with dreams. I've seen the dark lake, it was almost like an eclipsed sun surrounded by huge ice peaks. It was calling and gravitating me and no one knew what was inside.
It all began with dreams. What are dreams after all?.. Rationalisation keeps us in a safe place. But we all are challenged by something from within. Have you noticed that all your foundations are completely mired in madness?
It all began with dreams. Stuck in transition we are absolutely lost, is everything real or not?.. Man strives toward reason only so that he can make rules for himself. Life itself has no rules.
It all continues with dreams. It's decomposition. It's confrontation. It's a dark journey through empty fields. Everything has to be dissolved and reduced into that form from which it arose.
And then the new chapter starts.

Echoes and Signals is the progressive rock band from Tula, Russia. Originally Echoes and Signals started as an instrumental project drawing inspiration from progressive rock and post/math rock genres. After releasing 2 conceptual EPs ("Comma" and "Ouroboros") their first long play album called "V" (reference to 5 acceptance stages) has been released in 2014. The album featured the first appearance of vocals and signified the migration from pure instrumental territories. Later the band released a couple of singles with guest vocalists.
The second LP "Monodrama" was released in 2017. Album title and concept were referring to psychotherapy method. Musically "Monodrama" was featuring instrumental progressive rock combined with guest vocals by Mariana Semkina in the song Lead Astray.
During live tours and performances EaS shared a stage with Pain of Salvation, Long Distance Calling and Solstafir.
At the end of 2020 the third long play album "Mercurial" was announced. It will be the first album that will feature vocals in its every song and also Leo Margarit from Pain of Salvation as a guest drummer.
