Sam Nordberg : Very helpful and thorough. I had a problem with steam escaping, and it turned out I had a small lump of (very charred and burnt many times over) rice starch lodged just within one of the vents in the underside of the lid. Using the little metal pin to push all the way through the outer top steam hole dislodged it from out the underside of the lid and now it keeps a nice tight seal.

Torix Bear : Very helpful as I wasn't sure about the stainless lids in the new stainless rice cookers (what they were for / if they stayed in the cooker ). The tips about the holes / pin were useful too, as you can see that people might try to poke it in the wrong parts and ruin the cooker.
