If you don't have the select, if you are registered with NI that is often discounted to half price via a emailed voucher code, so you can upgrade from that. You can also get Kontakt crossgrade by getting the free Emberton Arcane VST during the 50% sale to get kontakt for less than half retail price. You can also upgrade from kontakt to any of the Komplete packages.

Between Microsoft's forced "upgrades", Cakewalk quirks and kontakt's complicated routing and slight latency issues, I have found myself after over a month of struggles, to simply go back to using my old version of sonar and my Yamaha motif rack for most of my programming. I agree, many of the sounds are pretty amazing. But to get everything working has been so frustrating that I needed a break while I still had furniture left in my studio.
Joe Grint : Another great review Mike - I do have a bit of lust for Komplete but I can't really justify the cost as to get the best out of it I think the Ultimate would be the one to go for. As I bought IK Studio Max (on an upgrade path from one of their effects during their previous sale) I'm still working through those sounds so couldn't handle several thousands more! What most appeals to me about Komplete is Kontakt and the many different libraries you can get for it but for now I'll have to stick with what I've got. Might also be worth mentioning the free Komplete Start that people can download to get a feel of the Komplete / Kontakt environment before they upgrade to on of the paid versions.
Ruckman65 : During an NI sale recently, I upgraded to Komplete 12 Ultimate from 11. The teaser to upgrading to 13 are the new instruments included. Your demo of some of those instruments has got me checking out my finances to see when, not if, I upgrade to 13 Ultimate. Having said that, 12 Ultimate is astonishing in what it offers.

Epicon 6 : I got mine yesterday and it’s perfect for me except often while i’m browsing and selecting instruments everythings freezes for a few seconds and then catches up. I had the same kind of problems with previous generation. But my Maschine MK III never does that at all. Weird and frustrating
