Is the TerraOnion Super SD System 3 a buggy mess? Full test!
Join me as I review the Super SD System 3 from TerraOnion.
This device lets you play CD-ROM², Super CD-ROM² and Arcade CD-ROM² game images on your PC Engine and also manages Save games on the SD card.
I set up, test and review the unit, including looking at image noise and any glitches from advanced features. At the end I give my final verdict.
The SuperSD System 3 is available from https://terraonion.com/en/producto/super-sd-system-3/ and will be in stock soon.

Mark Fixes Stuff : Really enjoyed making this honest review of the Super SD System 3 from TerraOnion. I love the PC Engine and being able to play CD Rom games on this awesome NEC game system is a real joy.
David retro games played badly. : A system I've never owned or played on but often considered investing in.
Looks like a great bit of kit, as always great video mate
PantherUK : Good stuff Mark, I use emulation for the PC Engine and there's some cracking games on it... A fave of mine is the CD game Gate of Thunder...
davethebulb : In addition to the RGC cable, you really must perform the "jail bar" fix. Other than the actual RGB mod, this is the next best thing you can do to your PCE for razor sharp noise free images. ;-)
ErickRPG : good stuff dude! I play and own games that have flash memory as the saves are preserved longer. from gba to ps1 and ps2. but for carts with batteries, or pc engine cd stuff this might be the way to go. I just get into the analogue systems and this might be an awesome way to play those translated pc engine rpgs!

My Life in Gaming makes documentaries, deep dives into retro console hardware, and more.
HappyConsoleGamer : Great episode guys! amazing!!
Gameplay and Talk : Those load time improvements are amazing! It's nice to see this product is continuing to improve. Thanks for taking a close look at it.
Rednax : Having one for the Sega CD would be amazing. I've been wanting to get a Sega CD for my Genesis, but most listings on eBay always are sold with a Genesis attatched. Even if they are sold as just the CD Unit, they go for a lot.
And ripping the ROMs off of a CD isn't too hard. Although getting the BIOS legally is difficult.
John Sheppard : It's probably a safe bet that the Sega/Mega CD is Terraonion's next project. I really hope so, anyway.
I love my SSDS3 and it can only get better as time goes on.
TwistedD85 : I wish the other flash carts put time into making their menus look that good. I know it's secondary to functionality, but it's really nice when you compare it to a plain black screen with white text.

GadgetUK164 - Retro Gaming Repairs & Mods : Update 28/01/2018 - Sorry to hear there has been a delay shipping, but this is GOOD NEWS. Terra Onion were notified of some RGB imperfections on some peoples TV's, they addressed this with a board revision and have arranged to replace any of the shipped units once they have setup their returns process. This does mean there's currently a 5 or 6 week delay whilst new improved boards are being created. This is excellent customer service, they are going above and beyond what anyone would expect of a small company. I will do an update video soon.
Herman McClain : Absolutely blown away! I LOVE the fact I won't be annoyed with the CD load times any longer :) Definitely saving up for this!
AtariBorn : This is brilliant! Too bad it's not in the CD-ROM form factor so we could replace those busted CD-ROMs in the briefcase interface units.
nonp : I don’t know why i watch these videos, now i really want an original pc engine with this sd pcb add on,looks fantastic. The people that make these always amaze me with their cleverness.Definitely great price.
SmaMan : Wow! So I've been way out of the loop and just discovered this today! Pretty awesome, and thanks for the detailed video!
Only thing I've got a question about that I can't seem to find answer to (and apologies if I missed this) is does this require an RGB setup? Could I use any old Megadrive II composite cable? Or perhaps even HD Retrovision's amazing Component cables?
