Sylla Atlas : Do not mistake this show as Titanic-inspired. It was inspired by the extravagant yacht cruises Chanel used to enjoy with the Duke of Westminster, Misia Sert and other friends like Cocteau, Iribe and Reverdy from her villa at the South France Coast, La Pausa, which was an enormous garden with several houses. In the main one, she had made her architect build the exact same staircase from the orphanage Aubazine, where she spent her adolescence, which deeply traumatized her. Those cruises would take them even to the Black Sea, but most of the time, they would go to Venice. La Pausa was her favourite place until Iribe died there suddenly, which marked the begin of her “work is my only love”-era, which began before the 2nd World War and ended with her death in 1971.
