However, you should be aware that there are other black-and-white laser printers out there, like the Brother models, that have lower-cost refill kits (due to the lack of chip), and much simpler refill procedures. That's what I would suggest for you.
inkowl.com : The chip is the electronic component that tracks usage and presents it to the printer. Once a cartridge becomes "empty" (1500 pages have elapsed), no printer will ever accept it without a new chip.

Note that this is purely a design choice by Samsung. Other printer manufacturers make the chip optional (by letting you print even on "empty") or don't have chips at all.
bullwinklle : Awesome. I just ordered one of these refill kits, and it was pretty easy to refill.
inkowl.com : The biggest factor in determining the print quality is the state of the drum. Completely disassembling the cartridge and replacing the drum will definitely allow for a greater number of high-quality refills. However, this procedure is highly involved and isn't appropriate for our customer base (do-it-yourself at home/office). Just dumping the original powder and refilling through the plug is more than sufficient to get one or two high quality refills without the hassle of complete disassembly.
