LoLoFu 傅樂樂 : 你今天番茄炒蛋了嗎?
Yan Chen :

Eric Petersen : Really loved the history lesson Edd! Quite interesting and has me thinking about my first Brooks Chariot trainers in 1984.
Running Otaku : Great episode! I was born in 1970 and was running by 1979. There wasn’t really talk about shoe technology as we were living in an info black hole pre-Internet. My mom’s biggest worry was the waffle outsole— she was concerned I’d wear it out in spots and damage my gait. (Lots of kids in the 70’s were wearing “corrective shoes” that looked like beefed up black & white bowling shoes to ”fix” the way they walked). In those days, we used to use Shoe Goo to cover any bare spots in the outsole so that we could keep our one pair of shoes for many, many months. There was no such thing as the midsole breaking down because it was so hard! Lol Anyway, the average 5K/10K/Marathon race times in the 70’s/early 80’s we’re faster than today’s because there were relatively fewer casual runners. It’s fun to think about how much faster we might have gone with today’s technology.
Stephen Robinson : Hello Edd, thanks for the great channel. Started running in the 70's and had Nikes since the LDV . Yes I recall the Tailwind, it was a great shoe in its day. I bought a paid of the retro version and it doesn't seem the same as I remember , especially the midsole materials. This shoe led to the Vortex and Air Edge my all time favourite Nike training running combination. Have a great 41st year!
David Atchison : What a blast from the past Edd! I remember the Tailwind very well and ran the 78' Honolulu Marathon, my first one. The following year ran Honolulu again in a pair of New Balance, possibly a version of the 574. It rained a bit and water stations were sloppy wet. The moisture caused the glue holding the midsole to melt and it eventually separated at around mile 12. Basically ran the remainder of the Marathon in what sounded like flip flops. On top of that the burgundy dye bled all over my socks. Not too pleased back then but hilarious when looking back. Running shoes have come a long way eh?. Appreciate the content! Well done!
dru812002 : Great review! I have the Obsidian/white. I think they are pretty lite for a retro runner. Super comfortable.

Tony Tony : The first version is the best, it's stripped to the bone, minimalist design with a beautiful silhouette, you can't add or remove anything form that design - it's a classic.
Dee Wells : One of the most slept on running sneakers in Nike’s archives.

I got my first pair of Tailwinds in the ‘80s and I have to say that they were some of the most comfortable sneakers that I wore at the time.

Fast forward to Nike’s ACG Lava Dome (Lows/1988) that borrowed a lot of cues from the Tailwind.
Henry Orellana : Dang I didn’t even know the tailwind had air technology. I really like how they look a lot. Nice vid guys
Richard B : Been here since the channel had only 500 subs and I HAVE to say how proud I am of you guys. You’ve come so far already and can’t wait to see more of you guys amazing content keep up the good work!
Exploring Los Angeles : the Tailwind IV was the best looking one for streetwear. The OG Tailwind was pretty good running shoe. I remember it was ground breaking when it came out.
