SUPERMAN RETURNS: How it Could Have Been
A re-edit of the 777 sequence in Superman Returns. (It mistakenly says 747 in the titles of my edit)
I felt it was such an important part of the movie, it being the first time people had seen the Man of Steel for over 20 years, that I wanted to turn my disapointment of it around and do it my way. I wanted it to feel more like the old films with the late, great Christopher Reeve by focusing more on Superman himself and adding the music from the original movie. Some of the cuts arn't perfect, but I worked with what I had. Thanks for watching!
Sherman Shecapio : Superman's line, "It's still the safest way to travel", is a reference to Christopher Reeve's comment in Superman (1978) after rescuing Lois from the falling helicopter. "Well, I certainly hope this little incident hasn't put you off flying, miss. Statistically speaking, of course, it's still the safest way to travel."
tripsadelica : George Reeves, Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh were all brilliant in their portrayal of Superman. This film was treated very unfairly by the critics. I think Routh was able to capture the spirit of Chris Reeve's comedic timing brilliantly. I also think that using the John Williams source music was a clever thing to do. Later iterations suffered because they did not have such an epic score.
Patrick Zipperer : Brandon Routh absolutely nailed his performance as Superman. Kevin Spacey was a great Luthor. I was really happy to see Brandon bring his Superman back in the Arrowverse crossover.
Vwlss Nvwls : I enjoyed Superman Returns, even with it's flaws. The one thing I enjoyed the most, is how Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey put obvious effort into getting the mannerisms, and quirks of Christopher Reeves and Gene Hackman into their performances. That was a great way to honor those before them, and fans of the original movies.
Macy VanDeusen : The use of John Williams' "Superman Theme" makes ANY Super-rescue that much more exciting!

@arturius7534 : When superman smashes straight through that falling wing, I will always remember that.
@MatthewMurdockLawyer : Little did the people in the crowd know they paid for more than a baseball game ticket....
I LOVE this scene! Favorite superman theme, suit and actor! I watched this so many times as a kid! I grew up on superheroes, and I still am at age 17!
@artosin : I Saw this on cinemas... I was 17. It was INCREDIBLE!!! Still got the ticket.
@Iram_Ali : My favourite Superman scene, I love every frame. The actor looks so much like an updated Chris Reeve that I always forget that it isn't him. He should have gotten more Superman movies, he's perfect, right after Reeve.
@fracturedvisions8049 : I re-watched Returns and it's 100x better than I remember it being.

Pharmit24 : Why does the CGI looks so good tho feels like Tobey's Spiderman cgi
Språket : Say what you will about Superman Returns, but scenes like this are just beautiful. It may not have had the spectacle of Man of Steel but it sure as hell had heart and a hero you felt compelled to root for.
Jackson Wayne Putnam : This is probably my favorite sequence in any Superman film.
Just him saving people. Wonderfully conceptualized too.
It’s pure and simple.
Bilal Sheikh : This is what Superman should do. Spending his time to save everyone and doing whatever it takes. He should be a beacon of hope
Ade23514 : I’m surprised no one’s mentioned in the comments how AWESOME that catch of the daily planet globe was. Not even a strain on his face.. now that’s Superman.
