2012 Infiniti G25 Drive & Review

( http://www.TFLcar.com ) Is the Infiniti G25 or the more expensive, more powerful and more luxurious G37? That's the question that Infiniti hopes your neighbor will ask if you decide to purchase the G37s cheaper identical twin brother. In an effort to bring new, younger and more budget-minded buyers to the luxury brand, infiniti built an entry level car out of the brand's popular G37 sedan.

Instead of the G37's stoplight drag race winning 3.7 liter V6 the G25 has to make due with a small block V6 that puts out 218 Horsepower through a seven speed automatic transmission. This means that you won't be winning many stop light drag races even though the smaller V6 loves to rev. But what you lose in power, you make up for in what Infiniti says is segment leading fuel economy.

@Johncarson9113 : Keep in mind the G25 was introduced primarily to compete with smaller engine variants in other competitors like the BMW 328i & Audi A4 etc. Infiniti didn't do much for the G25, they launched the G25 series so that when its successor and new generation G series comes out in 2013 the G25 would have established a place in the market already rather then being an unfamiliar & premature offering in 2013. Infiniti took advantage of the already thriving G37's reputation which helped the G25.
@aconfusedazn : Dave you bring up some good points at the end. I have to give the Korean auto makers a lot of respect for stepping up their game in the last few years. They are nothing to laugh about anymore. Having said that, an entry level Japanese luxury car with fewer options and a higher price-tag just doesn't seem justified.

@AlternativeUses : good review... 2.5L is too small for a v6. The competition has moved in with turbo fours which are faster and get better fuel economy. I'd look into the a4 or 328i if I were in this segment
