Benn Down : The issue I’ve found even with my unfairchild is that the release is just too slow to be useful. Even on fastest constant the needle won’t hit 0dbu on any 1/8th note let alone a 1/16th.

Fatty BoomBatty : Thanks for the review. Not sure I can hear £30K or even £3K worth of difference - the Pultec EQ you reviewed embellished the sound to a far greater degree. May be a bit of volume compensation when demoing at reduced threshold levels would have brought out the differences for my less educated ears.

Muse Axe Backing Tracks : 38 people that do not like Vintage gear but looked for it anyway?? I think this is a classy compressor, which I like to use on slow songs and on the master bus, it glues very well ,but to me gives maybe more of a fairchild sound than glues on the mix. if we're talking glue than the SSL bus compressor by waves does a better job at glueing the mix. nonteless, the fairchild has a very pleasing sound . it's just a whole lot slower hahaha
Cyril ViXP : Sounds like it brings more coloration than compression. And that's a hell lot expensive saturation plugin.
A Red Pill A Day : They should have done a side by side with a stock ProTools compressor plug-in on a digital emmulation of the Fairchild just to see what it sounds like. I'd be willing to bet there wouldn't have been that much of a difference. This - like electric guitars from the 1950's - is as much about what the listener WANTS to hear as it is the equipment itself. If you did a blind comparision - you might be very dissapointed.
Madrrrrrrrrrrr : Cranking it up is not lowering the threshold. Cranking it up is driving the input with a higher threshold ;)

Next, Edinburgh-based Kieran Apter and Leon Power offer up the mellow, vocal-laden track ‘Drifting Spring’, while rising US producer Fairchild brings new energy with the bass-driven ‘The Light In You’. Rounding off the EP on a more contemplative note, Greek DJ and producer Savvas presents his tranquil ‘Nostalgia’.
