Metro Nashville homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a young nurse on I-440 late Thursday night.

I-440 Reconstruction Project - Finale

All lanes of Interstate 440 are now open! The reconstruction of I-440 in Nashville began in August 2018. The bulk of the work included removing a grassy median, recycling a 10-inch thick concrete surface, and providing three lanes of travel in each direction throughout the 7.6-mile corridor. The newly constructed travel lanes were opened one month ahead of the contract completion date.

The $154.8 million project is the largest project in TDOT history. Contract crews will continue to work outside the lanes of travel to complete all necessary work.
