The supercharger oil is officially described by the AUDI as 'life time fill', but the car (audi s4) as seen in the video has only ran for just under 100,000 km, yet there was hardly any oil left to lubricate the gears in the supercharger unit. Thus this job was actually more of re-filling the oil to the dried out unit rather then oil change. With no oil, the unit's pulley wheel would turn just fine, if little noisy and sluggish feel as it turns, but imagine it turning thousands of times faster and under serious load and heat of compressed air. Would it still turn freely without the unnecessary drag caused by friction, with no sufficient oil to lubricate?
