LAND - Official Trailer [HD] - In Theaters February 12

From acclaimed actress Robin Wright comes her directorial debut LAND, the poignant story of one woman’s search for meaning in the vast and harsh American wilderness. Edee (Wright), in the aftermath of an unfathomable event, finds herself unable to stay connected to the world she once knew and in the face of that uncertainty, retreats to the magnificent, but unforgiving, wilds of the Rockies. After a local hunter (Demián Bichir) brings her back from the brink of death, she must find a way to live again.

Stephen Pike : 47 years ago...I built a small log cabin and did my version of this in the mountains of Montana. I couldn't recommend it for everyone, but the experience was one of the best gifts I've ever given myself. Looking forward to the movie.
Garland Remington III : To all the people that say they would go live like this lady is living in a heartbeat, what all of you don’t realize is the elevation this lady is portraying to live at. Just from the looks of it, she is at, easily, 6000 feet up. And on average each year, 250-inches-of-snow. Easily. I know this for a fact. My wife and I are born and raised here in NW Montana. Little town of Eureka. Our log home sits at 5,455 feet up.

We we get each year on average 160 inches of snow to 200 inches. And this is higher up than we are. We are 5 miles from the Canadian border. 9 miles from the Idaho border. And we have crossed both borders so many times on our snowmobile and on our horses. Both,of us are born/raised here.

Our closest neighbor is 7 3/4 miles away. In the last 30 years we have seen so many people come out here from the East Coast and the West Coast from every large city you can think of and only 2 different couples have stayed and made it. We live extremely remote compared to living in Seattle Los Angeles Sacramento New York City etc. etc. and yet we don’t live as remote as this lady is portraying.

To get to our home you will travel a total of 11 miles on gravel roads in summer, then they are snow packed from the middle of September until the end of April 6 months a year. The majority of people I’m talking about that can’t handle it don’t live as remote as we do.

All of them live in much more expensive log homes then us. And all of them live off paved roads. And all of them have left because of various reasons that really boils down to just one or two. They can’t handle the fact of no readily available services like you have in your cities. Nor can they handle the snowy hard living that comes from having to move so much snow every year just to get the town.

The first two or three years nearly all of them are starry eyed enthralled and happy. But by the 5th year they start becoming jaded and more crabby towards us locals. And start running down the area they live here. “ how have you been able to live here all your life is beyond me you don’t have this you don’t have that.” Etc etc etc.

And before you know what their place is up for sale and advertise all the Internet back in the area where they are from. And before you know it another couple that was just like there will lineup is by their place.

We know of so many places that have been bought and sold a half a dozen times over the last 30 years. it’s easy for us to make it here but I understand our families have been here for four generations. My family, my wife’s family. Mine came from “Northern England “ and my wife’s family emigrated from Tromso Norway.
Sally Tucker : I just finished watching. A huge thumbs up.
The story.
The cinematography is absolutely breath taking.
The acting.
Well done, Robin.
J : Can’t believe this is already 1 year old!
Still one of my fav movies of 2021
Robin Wright is incredible here with her performance, the gorgeous vistas, and this did make me teary eyed
Laughing Lucy : Robin Wright is so underrated. Have loved her ever since I first saw her in Santa Barbara - I was just a little girl.
So glad she left Sean penn and made a better life for herself.
Looks like a film with depth and wonderful cinematography.
So happy for her. ✨✨

IBTwist : The thing that is so beautiful about marimba literature is how interpretive you can be. This piece in particular can either be played rather energetically such as this rendition (almost expressing a deep joy for nature) or more contemplative and rubato. Both ways are exquisite and gorgeous!
jon : This is my favorite marimba song, so peaceful and its not just showoff music.
Prometheus720 : It's a shame that I'm listening to this over speakers. I imagine it must sound so much more beautiful in person.
IBTwist : I much prefer this faster tempo as compared to the slower feel a lot more people choose. It sounds more alive and breathing.
Teddy at Swaying Hill Studios : You know you're a dope musician when the song you're playing gives the listener all kinds of feels....

hnnnggggg I love this!
