주방 세제로 잘 지워지지 않는 냄비, 컵, 찻잔의 착색과 탄 냄비를 베이킹 소다로 깨끗이 닦아 봤습니다.

OlegKostoglatov : Strange enough melamine plastic is actually more expensive to produce then Bakelite, though it seems to have a similar texture to Bakelite it's chemical ingredients are different, it's called melamine formaldehyde whereas Bakelite is phenol formaldehyde. It's perfectly safe for use in cups and dishes, but you can't put it in the oven nor can you microwave it. One thing it could be used for as well is electronics, it makes a good insulator.

It might have been interesting to leave the cup in there for a good few minutes to see what happens to it.
Another reason why they say that Fakelite must not be microwaved is because the cup might 'dissolve' and be absorbed into the drink, making it toxic!
