Fuel Flash Point Test
How to test various fuels, petrol, kerosene, diesel and biodiesel for flash point, ie. the minimum temperature at which the fuel will ignite in the presence of a flame.
Mr. Rz : I had a hard time understanding flash points of fuels, this totally explained it to me. <3
Derek Desjardins : Flash point is when the fluid is hot enough that the vapor from it ignites from an external source momentarily but is not sustained. Fire point is when the fire sustains for 5 seconds or more. So from this video, i would guess the flash point is between 30C and 35C, and the fire point is between 35C and 40C.
This is causing some confusion for me because the flash point is supposedly 37C to 65C.
Mamerto R. Jimenez Jr. : Very good , simple and practical. Can you do also what they called closed cap test.
allgoodhere1 : another great video by Imakebiodiesel. Informative and straight to the point.
Thanks john.
Personal One : Great video, quite easy to understand.
