Champy El Caballo : It is very rare to find something that has actually gotten better of time. Especially with sneakers. Usually what happens is a company will put something out that is big from jump street and they will try to ride that wave for as long as possible before it becomes stagnant or they take things way to far. Even Jumpman has had more than a few designs that have flopped for whatever reason.
In my opinion Nike has a few sneakers that have been able to become classics and will always be legends. My favorites are the Cortez's, Air Force 1's and of course the Air Max's. In my opinion these are sneakers that were ahead of there time and will never go out of style so to speak. In the late 90's after a playing baseball for a lllooooonnnggg time I began to play "competitive" softball. Right around the late 90's players started to shy away from cleats and move towards, what we called, "Turfs". At the time Nike was making a sort of hiking sneaker muck like the Air Max 95's. They were very practical simply because of how many games we would play over a weekend. In baseball you played one game per day and rarely had double headers. Softball on the other hand was different. Over a weekend tournament which started on Friday afternoon/evening one could play 6, 7, 8 etc games. Switching to a comfortable sneaker like the Air Max was a no brainer. Now even in MLB turfs sneakers are still used.
