Architects and interior designers PMDL Architecture + Design have recently completed a renovation of a 1960s five storey walk-up building on one of Hong Kong Island’s busiest thoroughfares. The building consists of five apartments above retail at ground level. Gcina Mkhize : This has to be one of the best functional layouts at 25sqm. No pulling down beds or shifting rooms or climbing to bed.
Bob : This plan avoids many of the problems seen in other "tiny" apartments. It has a normal double bed in a private compartment (not a loft bed, a Murphy bed or convertible couch), a kitchen with decent-sized fridge and counter space, and a shower stall (not a wet room). I could live in this one!
Tams : Okay this is one of the best designs I’ve seen on this show! It’s so beautiful and it doesn’t look cramped at all!
