Season 4, Episode 1: How We All Play a Role in Indigenous Initiatives at GBC
Indigenous Students Support Specialist, Lisa Zangerl, talks to Arantxa about how we all play a role in Indigenous Initiatives at GBC. Plus, we learn who the Elders are, details on Indigenous Awards and Scholarships and the new Indigenous center at Waterfront campus.
Black Futures at George Brown College
At George Brown College, we want to acknowledge the history of the Black community while celebrating the resilience and excellence that the community has shown over time. This February marks a continuing conversation on how we foster and promote Black futures while creating community for all.
Through our continuing anti-racism efforts (including our signing of the Scarborough Charter, release of our Anti-Racism Action Plan, and creation of our Anti-Racism E-Course) we are cultivating a foundation of equity, reconciliation and belonging at GBC.
For 2023 our Black Futures theme is Black Health Matters – with a special panel event exploring the impact of anti-Black racism on health and well-being as well as community-based approaches to healing and wellness. We hope you'll join us for this important conversation on Thursday, February 9th from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. EST.
