20cc's of benadine methachloride : I'd be curious to see Josh make a graph of diminishing returns for each of the headphones he's reviewed. All audio gear reviewer's graphs would look different, but when it comes to value, I'd bet we would see interesting consistencies.
propender7311 : The TH900 is great with TH610 pads, these pads reduce the treble and add some body in the midrange. They become a super TH-X00 instead of a very bright V-shaped presentation.
Virinder Sandhu : I own these headphones and agree that the stock pads lead to a signature that is painfully bright...I can only wear them for a few minutes before they become too painful to listen to. However, I swapped out the stock pads with ZMF Ori lambskin pads and lined the insides with Dekoni attenuator rings, and, WOW! This modification tames the hot treble and creates the perfect V-shaped signature for me. All the detail is still there, and I think the increased thickness of the Ori pads (which puts more distance between your ears and the drivers) leads to an even bigger soundstage than the stock pads. This is hands-down the funnest pair of headphones I own. Listening to music that demands both excellent treble and bass response (like female-fronted music like "Graveyard" by Halsey and "A Different Kind of Human" by AURORA) always puts a huge grin on my face with these headphones.
Dapper Brick : Unfortunately the TH900 Sapphire Blue is a different tuning than the Ruby Red TH900. They use slightly different drivers according to the OEM, though having taken multiple members of the family apart (TH900, 610, 600, 6XX PH, Denon AH-D7000, D5000) I'm guessing it's just different damping material on the baffle and earcup
Drew From Oz : I listened to some TH900 mk2s with the full Mark Lawton driver and cup damping mod on a Quest Audio Dragonfly Red and a Woo Audio Wa7th side-by-side with the ZMF Atticus and the Atticus sounded so much fuller and lusher to my ears. The mid-bass was incredible on the ZMF cans! Even though the highs on this particular pair of TH900 mk2s had been tamed a bit due to the Lawtons mods, the mids on the TH900 mk2 were just so hollow! The sub-bass was, however, wonderful and the Fostex were also remarkably clear. I think it's designed for old men who have hearing loss and like a V-shaped signature :P

vettepilot427 : Fun Fact: The sap from this tree contains Urushiol (thus the name Urushi Lacquer) which is also the chemical in Poison Oak and Ivy that makes you itch. The fact that people put on protective gear and work with this substance just to get a finish unobtainable any other way is mind-blowing.
Styx Wick or Frost : The dedication towards the detail to get the Fostex earcups alone are worth half the asking price of the TH900. After trying one, I could've sworn I had the urge to steal it after 30 minutes of use. The sound is just breathtaking and absolutely wonderful.
Devi Baebie : That was very calming to watch. I love that such an old art form is being used still to this day and for such a modern product.

Stratelite : They are beautiful and I do like how they sound, but they are too expensive for the sound quality. I am not hearing super annoying treble people are complaining about. They actually sounds similar to my 6XX in the mids but with actual sub bass and more highs. Would probably buy them for around $500.

This is my "endgame". I use the Schiit stack with EQ to fill-out the mids and decrease treble. I hear almost everything (not electrostat detail though), but that THUMPING, rumbling bass and soundstage. I've heard a lot of headphones and they sound like the best in quite a few categories (to me).
I'm curious if they're audibly better on a balanced amp like the Schiit Ragnarok? Next purchase x'D
